Job Description

As a Business Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial and operational excellence within our growing logistics organization based in Zeebrugge. Reporting to the Head of Group Controlling and collaborating closely with the controlling team, you will review and analyse periodic financial and operational reports to provide actionable insights across all levels of the organization. Your work will directly support management decision-making and help optimize business performance, from dock operations to strategic planning. You will be responsible for translating complex financial data into clear, compelling reports that guide organizational strategy and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare periodic and ad hoc financial and operational reports for management stakeholders
• Analyse operational processes to identify efficiency opportunities and performance drivers
• Address process-related and data-related inquiries from across the organization
• Design, develop, and maintain daily Business Intelligence (BI) reporting systems and dashboards
• Provide strategic financial input and analytical leadership to support key business decisions

You should be comfortable working with large datasets, translating them into meaningful business narratives, and supporting stakeholders at all organizational levels. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in financial accounting, advanced technical skills in reporting tools, and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement.

Experience & Expertise Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Economics, Controlling, Finance, or Accountancy
• Three to five years of relevant experience in controlling, financial analysis, or business reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerBI or similar BI tools
• Strong numerical and reporting skills with solid understanding of financial accounting principles
• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex business issues and formulate solutions

Qualities & Work Approach:

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
• Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel occasionally across Western Europe as business needs require
• Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and diverse organizational levels
