Technical Responsibilities:

  • Manage enterprise backup solutions and storage environments including SAN, NAS, and Object storage systems
  • Execute and monitor backup operations, data replication, and restoration procedures
  • Configure and maintain backup repositories, storage systems, and replication technologies
  • Perform system upgrades for backup solutions, storage infrastructure, and associated servers
  • Implement disaster recovery solutions and validate recovery procedures
  • Automate routine operations through scripting and workflow optimization
  • Troubleshoot complex backup failures and provide root cause analysis

Infrastructure Management:

  • Administer tape library solutions and archive systems
  • Optimize backup schedules, retention policies, and system performance
  • Configure cross-site data replication for redundancy
  • Monitor storage capacity and implement lifecycle management policies
  • Maintain backup and storage documentation and procedural guides
  • Support distributed enterprise environments with diverse storage requirements

Leadership & Process Improvement:

  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members
  • Develop initiatives to enhance backup infrastructure efficiency
  • Generate regular status reports on environment health and activities
  • Collaborate with service owners on backup strategy alignment
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and project artifacts
  • Implement best practices for data protection and recovery
