Senior Data Engineer
Due to continuous expansion of my client, I am looking for a colleague to reinforce their IT office based in office in the region of Antwerp.
In close collaboration with our business analysts and systems & applications teams, you will contribute to building a modern data reporting platform in Microsoft’s Azure environment. Your work will support business expansion and drive data-driven decision-making.
As part of the team, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, dbt, Debezium and Event Hub to ensure efficient and reliable data ingestion and processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and enrichment to maintain data quality and integrity.
- Develop and implement data models, schemas, and structures to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate in English across multidimensional teams; additional language capabilities are valued.
Your Profile
they are looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented candidate with experience in:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or similar role;
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (preferably Azure) for building scalable, high-performance data solutions;
- Deep knowledge of data modeling (Kimball, Inmon) for efficient and scalable data warehouses;
- Skilled in designing and optimizing batch and streaming workflows on Azure Databricks, with Unity Catalog management for data governance, lineage, and access control;
- Hands-on experience with real-time data processing using Debezium, Azure Event Hub, and DLT pipelines;
- Proficient in dbt for scalable, maintainable data transformations with version control and automated testing;
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines and Terraform is a plus;
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in relational databases;
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools;
- You speak and write fluent English; additional languages are a plus;
- The ability to work efficiently while maintaining high quality and accountability.
